Chuck Boelkins, Industrial Ecologist

Chuck Boelkins joined P²AD in February 2000 as a resource recovery specialist. He focuses on assisting clients with by-product reuse and recycling opportunities. He manages the Georgia Industrial Materials Exchange, located at www.ScrapMatchGA.org Prior to this position, he served as Rockdale County's Recycling and Solid Waste Manager for seven years. He is a SWANA Certified Recycling Manager and a graduate of Leadership Rockdale.
Chuck has a Ph.D. in Research Design and Experimental Analysis from Stanford University, and held several university teaching and research positions prior to turning his energies to conservation and the environment. He's a member of the Georgia Recycling Coalition, the National Recycling Coalition, and the national scientific honor society, Sigma Xi.
Suzanne Burnes, Program Manager

Suzanne Burnes is program manager for the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia. As leader of P²AD's Environmental Leadership Team, she acts as a representative for Partners and maintains program documents and Partner data. Suzanne also has been involved in a number of national efforts to green the hospitality industry since 2001, and serves on the board of the Green Meeting Industry Council.
In her 13 years of environmental experience, Suzanne has served as a consultant for business, the U.S. EPA and the U.S. Army. She has also been the primary designer, technical writer and editor for various quarterly newsletters, annual reports and other documents. She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Warren Wilson College, with an emphasis on environmental policy. A virtual Atlanta native, she lives with her husband and toddler son in East Atlanta.
Sarah Dearman, Recognition Coordinator

Sarah Dearman joined P²AD as the recognition coordinator for the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia in March 2007. She serves as a representative for Partners and coordinates publications and recognition-based Partner incentives.
Sarah holds a bachelor's degree in physical science from the University of Maryland. Before coming to P²AD, she worked in Greenville, South Carolina as a broadcast meteorologist and environmental reporter.
Roy Edwards, Pollution Prevention Specialist

Roy Edwards joined P2AD in February 2008 as a pollution prevention specialist. His main focus is Construction and Demolition recovery, reuse and recycling. Prior to this position, he served as an engineer and specialist with the Environmental Protection Division as a permit writer and technical assistant to small businesses in Georgia.
Roy has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Alabama A&M University and is a retired naval engineering officer.
Dan Loudermilk, Pollution Prevention Engineer

Dan Loudermilk joined the P²AD staff in the Technical Assistance Program in October, 2006 as a Pollution Prevention Engineer. He has more than 25 years of Engineering and Environmental experience in a variety of industrial and commercial facilities including:
- Petroleum exploration and transportation,
- Kaolin mining and processing,
- Poultry processing,
- Textile manufacturing,
- Aircraft maintenance,
- Steel casting and manufacturing, and
- Commercial and retail fueling facilities.
He has served these facilities primarily as an engineering consultant responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of a variety of projects related to petroleum storage and transportation, wastewater treatment, water collection and recycling, solid waste disposal, groundwater remediation, and hazardous waste handling. This work was conducted primarily in the Midwest and Southeast regions of the U.S., and the countries of Germany, The Netherlands, Mexico, Venezuela, and the North Sea.
Prior to joining P²AD, Dan worked for three years in the Watershed Protection Branch of the Environmental Protection Division performing reviews of wastewater facilities for the Engineering and Technical Support Program, and developing waste load allocations for the Watershed Protection and Monitoring Program.
Dan served as past President and State Director for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Society of Engineers, and also served on the Environmental Committee of the Georgia Mining Association.
Dan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia.
PJ Newcomb, Program Manager

PJ Newcomb serves as the Technical Assistance Team program manager.
He started at P²AD as a pollution prevention engineer in May 2004. In that capacity, he performed a variety of pollution prevention technical assistance and conducted a year-long research project investigating the environmental priorities for P²AD. These priorities are helping guide P²AD’s areas of focus. In his second year at P²AD, PJ worked with the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia as the liaison to the highest-level program members (the Silver and Gold Level Partners). As the liaison, PJ worked to develop and administer regulatory and other incentives.
Before coming to P²AD, PJ spent two and a half years as a research engineer at Georgia Tech in the Environmentally Conscious Design and Manufacturing Program . He also spent five years in supplier quality and packaging at the Saturn Corp. in Spring Hill, TN. While at Saturn, he helped plan and implement an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.
PJ earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech.
Larry Razzetti, Pollution Prevention Engineer

Larry Razzetti joined P²AD in July 2005 as a pollution prevention engineer. He has more than 30 years experience in the manufacturing field in mechanical engineering and environmental, health and safety. Larry has worked in the following industries: chemical, lead acid battery, inkjet cartridge, industrial brushes, floor mats, electrical enclosures and automation equipment.
Some of his positions have included: maintenance manager, facilities manager, plant engineer, EH&S manager, project manager, manufacturing engineering manager, operations manager, plant manager, vice president and general manager.
Larry received his bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering technology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Mary Talukder, Pollution Prevention Advisor

Mary Talukder joined P²AD as a pollution prevention advisor in 2006. She acts as a representative for all Bronze Level P²AD Partners and maintains partner relations and partner survey.
In her 10 years of environmental experience, Mary has worked for the state of California, the South Carolina Department of Environmental Health, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Her background includes experience in hazardous waste management, underground storage tank permitting, risk management plans, and vehicle emissions programs. More recently, she served as team lead for environmental management systems program incentives in the Texas Small Business and Local Government Assistance Division. She also has experience with pollution prevention related to EMS sites. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina.
Bill Vondersmith, Pollution Prevention Engineer

Bill Vondersmith joined P²AD in 1994. Since that time, he has worked with facilities throughout Georgia evaluating P2 opportunities using full cost accounting methodology. Bill works primarily with the transportation equipment manufacturing sector, vehicle and general maintenance operations, painting and coating processes, and general manufacturing. He also serves as a member of the Georgia P²AD /DoD P2 Sustainable Installations Partnership, helping military installations to reduce waste and conserve resources.
Bill holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. He has more than 30 years of manufacturing experience in the telecommunication industry working for Western Electric in Baltimore, Maryland, and AT&T in Norcross, Georgia. During most of this time, Bill held the position of senior process and product engineer with several assignments covering a wide variety of processes and product lines including research and development of new products and processes. Other interim assignments included quality control, troubleshooting of customer field problems, cost analysis, and a quality improvement task force. He also spent several years as a production manager and managed a Manufacturing Difficulties Investigation Organization.
After taking an early retirement from AT&T in 1992, he went to work for U.S. EPA Region 4 in the Community Right-to-Know/SARA Title III program. Here he conducted compliance inspections, chemical safety audits, outreach presentations, and assisted with program planning.
Thatcher Young, P² Advisor

Thatcher Young joined the Pollution Prevention Assistance Division (P²AD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in March 2007 as a pollution prevention advisor. He serves on the Environmental Leadership Team of the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia where he is Partner Representative. His responsibilities include Partner interaction facilitation, Environmental Management Systems design and implementation assistance, and sustainability education. He is also responsible for expanding P²AD’s services to small and medium sized organizations utilizing P²AD’s newly released Sustainable Office Toolkit.
Thatcher holds a master’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Georgia State University. Before coming to P²AD, Thatcher worked for Georgia Electric Membership Corporation in governmental affairs and economic development. Thatcher and his wife Stephanie live in Marietta, GA.
