Metro Atlanta Keep America Beautiful Partnership
The Metro Atlanta Keep America Beautiful (KAB) Partnership is a group of local Keep America Beautiful affiliates in Metro Atlanta that have joined in together to share resources to address issues such as litter, river awareness, and water and air issues affecting Metro Atlanta. The Partnership is also involved in assisting local businesses in reducing their waste. As part of their continued assistance, the Partnership is hosting a series of Waste in the Workplace workshops. The workshops, funded in part by P2AD, are designed for local businesses to learn about saving money and improving their efficiency by reducing the amount of waste generated. The format of the workshop consists of how to conduct a waste audit, local business case studies, a pollution prevention overview, water quality issues in Atlanta, and a facility tour that highlights waste reduction activities. Each participant receives a manual to assist them in conducting a waste audit, identifying recyclables in their workplace, and reducing disposal costs, as well as list of recyclers and contacts in their community. Participants also have time to network with other businesses in their community. To date, workshops have been held in Forsyth, Cobb, Gwinnett, and Fayette counties. Look for possible upcoming workshops in Fulton, DeKalb, Rockdale, and Clayton Counties in the future.
