Naval Air Station
Executive Summary
NAS Atlanta has been actively incorporating Pollution Prevention into its everyday operations in accordance with Navy, Executive Order, and federal, state and base policies, goals and directives.
Introduction
NAS Atlanta is located on 181 acres southwest of, and adjacent to, Dobbins Air Reserve Base (ARB). NAS Atlanta is home to several aviation tenants with a total of 55 aircraft, including: Commander, Air Carrier Wing Reserve 20, which flies C-12 aircraft; Strike Fighter Squadron 203, which operates FA-18 fighter/attack aircraft; Naval Fleet Logistics Squadron 46, which flies C-9 aircraft; Airborne Early Warning Surveillance Squadron 77, which operates E-2C surveillance aircraft; Marine Aircraft 42, which flies AH-1 and UH-1 helicopters; and Strike Fighter Marine Squadron 142, which also operates FA-18 aircraft. NAS Atlanta employs over 200 civilian personnel, 1170 active duty military personnel, and 3850 reservists. It is the Navy's southeast training center, and also hosts the Naval and Marine Reserve Training Center. NAS Atlanta's mission is to provide readiness training for assigned active duty military personnel and selected reserve personnel while maintaining our full commitment to support the requireents of tenant commands and the fleet.

Pollution Prevention Program
The P2 Program at NAS Atlanta has been implemented in accordance with United States Navy, federal, state and base policies, instructions and directives. Several tools have been developed, such as the Environmental Protection Committee, to ensure that pollution prevention is incorporated into everyday activities on the base.
